The Holy Days of Obligation within the universal Catholic Church are the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Epiphany, the Ascension, the Body and Blood of ChristHoly Mary the Mother of God, her Immaculate Conception, her AssumptionSaint JosephSaint Peter and Saint Paul the Apostles, and All Saints. However, in the United States, the bishops, with the prior approval of the Apostolic See, have suppressed some Holy Days of Obligation or transferred them to Sunday.

Is Today A Holy Day? If Yes, Get To Mass!

*In most dioceses in the United States, the Ascension of the Lord (May 14) is moved to Sunday, May 17. Check with your local diocese to confirm.

*The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be on a Saturday this year, which means that the obligation is suspended.
